29JAN2023 My Morning Testimony for Our Church USABC in St. Stephen, New Brunswick

My Morning Testimony for Church 29Jan2023 USABC (Union Street Atlantic Baptist Church)

Forgive all my highlights that I had in my notes.

**No gesture is too insignificant or small, if God is asking.**

We should always remember, what may seem like a “small deed” to us, may be ourdivine opportunity” to be the very arms, hands or feet of Christ to someone else.

Most of you that know me, will hear me say that, ”I LOVE how God works”.  I am always in AWE of what my Lord & King does in our daily lives.  You will often hear me refer to these moments as my “God Stories”.  It is my heart-felt belief that our lives are truly NOT about us, BUT what we can do for someone else.  Our greatest trails are our deepest training grounds & CAN become our very testimonies.

It is through these trials that God trains us so He can use us.  I have experienced this so many times in my life when God has hand-picked beautiful people to place in my path, in what were some of my hardest moments.  One of the many blessings from God we receive is, that we will NEVER know what “our hardest moment” will be.  Simply, as we do not know either the moment Christ will return or the day we have been appointed to die and join our Lord & King.

(16 1\2 Years ago) On June 2’nd, 2006, we were at the St. John Regional Hospital, so Jamie could have his MRI on his shoulder.  After Jamie left, I felt God asking me to go over & speak to a woman sitting on the other side of the waiting room from me.  You may think, that I always listen to His still small voice, but as I am human sometimes I sadly haven’t.  When I told God that I was comfortable reading my scrapbooking magazine, his voice became MUCH STRONGER.

When I walked over, I told her that she didn’t know me but that God had asked me to come over & talk to herWhen, I asked her if she was all right, she began to cry.  She explained that her husband had a heart attack and they had taken him away & she did not know how he was.  ***Because my father had suffered many heart attacks & had open heart surgery twice, and my Mom-in-law (Grandma) had had open heart surgery; I knew this type of journey well.  They had been my training ground for this moment in time.

All time stood still and Mary & I sat there & talked.   I am truly grateful for the blessing of WHOM my husband is.  When he came out from having his MRI, he walked over & just sat down to join us.  He never missed a beat.  After all these years you see he knows & has experienced some of my “God Stories” with me. He has always been wonderful at listening to me share them.  He also has NEVER stopped me & instead has encouraged me with whatever, I feel God has asked me to do for someone

Five days later, just imagine my shock, when I received an e-mail from Mary’s husband, Harold Crowell.  As I can’t remember his exact words, I would like to read part of the email he sent.

“*Paulette:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your thoughts and kindness to my wife and I on the event of my heart attack in the Saint John Regional Hospital on the 2nd June 2006. We (and especially my wife, Mary) consider you as an Angel sent from Heaven to comfort and console Mary when she was suddenly all alone while I went to the cath lab for my work there. She has spoken of you often and to everyone she talks to about how you just suddenly appeared seemingly from nowhere to offer your comfort and love. She is convinced she was visited by an Angel.”

(Don’t worry, I assured Harold I “wasn’t” an angel, but he KNEW that God had sent me.)

“In closing, you can be assured that Mary and I will not forget you, and I am hopeful that sometime in the future I will be able to meet you and your husband personally.”

Through the years, Mary, Harold & I have stayed in touch.  We have been praying for each other for so many things.

My son, Bill’s atrial fibrillation episodes & procedures.

My breast cancer journey

Mary’s heart attack

Mary’s cancer journey

Jamie’s health issues

Mary is now 79 & Harold 81.  Last week, I called to ask permission to use their names & share this testimony and they said yes.  Of course God had deeper plans for that call.  When I called, I found out that we need to pray for them & am asking you to lift them up in prayer too.

1.  Mary goes back for her scan of her lung next month to check for the cancer.

2.   Please pray for their Grand-daughter Peyton & her Mom Aston.  Peyton is in the IWK in Halifax.  She is only

20 months old & is going through cancer treatments & therapy, for where they removed the cancerous lump in her leg.

Also, when I called this time, I got their address.  I think it’s time, we go to meet them & Jamie agrees.

My challenge to each of you is to look & see whom God places in your path & listen to His still small voice.  Maybe He’s asking you to make a phone call or send that text message or e-mail etc. Maybe it is as simple as to say a kind word or give a reassuring smile.

Lesson: We should always remember, what may seem like a “small deed” to us, may be ourdivine opportunity” to be the very arms, hands or feet of Christ to someone else.

**No gesture is too insignificant or small, if God is asking.**
