Meet Heather Roth , Aubrey Fasulo & Anna Beck. Can you love them beyond worms with me? No that is NOT a typo. Come & sit with me for a few minutes.
Happy Thanksgiving to You & Yours. It is so important to count your blessings every day. Today I’d like to pay it forward for some of my treasured friends that I made at Hope4Cancer.
Love You Beyond Worms!!! (Hey Anna are you in?)
Sometimes serving God doesn’t look like anything you ever imagined. We have one set of ideas, but God has another. Would you believe that serving God can blossom from an honest, heart-felt texting mistake? Well, I have one infamous between my friend, Mary & I. We’ve walked a lot of miles together, as we raised our children together. The good news is the kids survived. You might want to curl up with a warm cup of tea, as I take you on a journey of how one simple texting mistake can take on a life of its own for God. If you’ve ever doubted that God can use all things for good, you need to read this story!!!
As Miss Mulholland taught me in my high school English class, it is always good practice to incorporate the background setting so…. In 2012-2013 I had been through breast cancer for the first time. This encompassed a lumpectomy, six chemo treatments and the maximum radiation treatments. Mary Cook had helped me walk that journey through text messages, phone calls etc. It even included a ride to U.S. P.O. In Lubec, Maine. All so I could mail my Christmas boxes, to my family in Kansas. If she hadn’t been there they might have gotten mailed to “Fraggile Rock”. Oh wait, that is a God story for another day. A year after I had gone through my first breast cancer, my dear friend Mary was diagnosed with breast cancer.
You should know that “auto self-corrections” and I have a distinct love-hate relationship. God has been humbling & healing me through this issue. Sit down and get ready, as I share some of my “humble pie” with you. It’s a few years old, but I assure you that it still has plenty of flavor.
It was the night before my friend’s surgery, and I wanted to send her a supportive, loving text message so she would know that I was covering her in prayer. WITHOUT proofreading the message first, I pressed send. Miss Mulholland please forgive me, as I did not follow the basic rules you taught me. Thinking you might give me leeway, as texting didn’t exist then. The message I thought I was sending ended with, “I love you beyond WORDS“. Which for those of you who know me simply means, I am praying for you. I was horrified when I received a message back from my friend letting me know what I had typed!!!
“I love you beyond WORMS“!!! Incase you are wondering if I am joking? NO I AM NOT!!!! Can one letter make a difference. YES IT CAN! Can God use it for good, YES HE CAN! While in my moment of complete shock, I finally finished reading my dear friend’s message. She wanted to let me know that despite my huge faux pas, that it was exactly the message that she had needed because it made her smile. God used it to bring joy to her heart. To this day, when we go through hard times, we often send a message saying, “I love you beyond worms”.

Recently I extended a special invitation to Heather & Aubrey before they face their surgeries next week for breast cancer.
“I would like to offically induct you into the, “I Love You Beyond Worms Club”?!?! (I shared my story with them about Mary.) There is only one person besides me, that has ever been given this distinctive membership & that’s my friend Mary. If you choose to accept this membership, you will be only the second and third person to be inducted. “I
LOVE
YOU BEYOND
WORMS
!” Remember you are actually a
caterpillar who will blossom & grow into a beautiful
butterfly
because of all these trials you’ve gone through. You are so very special. Never forget you are God’s beloved chosen daughter.” When I was at Hope4Cancer, I met some amazing people. Each of these women I mentioned are battling breast cancer. Aubrey faces her surgery on this Tuesday; Heather on Wednesday. Anna continues to fight her battle with tripple negative, metastatic breast cancer. Can you “love them each beyond worms”? This Canadian Thanksgiving can you give them this gift of your prayers?
Just incase you were wondering if they accepted their invitations, here were a couple of their beautiful responses.
Heather, “I feel so honored to be a part of this club!!! What a privilege!!! I love you beyond
worms
!!! I’m the luckiest girl in the world
. “Aubrey, “Yes I want to join!! Just got your message and then saw this text. I’m in! I love you beyond WORMS
too!!
”God’s perspective is not our perspective. Can He use all things for good? YES HE CAN! Hard to believe that God could use a one character mistake (worms vs words) in a texting message to bless others.
Miss Mulholland, I am so very sorry… I’m not proof reading this. God can use it for good anyway.
